The 2026 installment of the Chukar Challenege is happening September 12th at the SBDA training grounds in Medical Lake. Any dog breed or type is welcome. A maximum of 40 dogs can run.
All dogs will run in braces in first series. The 8 fastest dogs to get 2 birds back to their handler will be called back and run to determine the champion based solely on their time in the second series.
This is a no-pressure and completely unsanctioned event that allows the retriever and pointer people to get together and have some fun with their dogs before the hunting season really gets under way. It is open to members and non-members alike. If you are running multiple dogs, please do a registration for each of them.
The winner gets the traditional jug of pickles and the rules committee/complaint department consists of Ben's puppy- Lightning.
All you need to compete is a dog, $50, something orange to wear and a shotgun. And we can provide a gunner if you would like to concentrate on working your dog.
